Las Vegas Convention Center – Room N243 Upper Concourse
To facilitate exhibitor media coverage, a fully equipped and staffed Press Room will be set up exclusively for the working media (reporters, editors, photographers) of trade publications, consumer/business publications and the electronic media.
The Press Room will make exhibitor press kits available for all attending press to use. EACH EXHIBITOR SHOULD DELIVER A SUPPLY OF PRESS KITS TO THE PRESS ROOM NO EARLIER THAN SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23. Because Press Room space is limited, we will not be able to store large quantities of press kits. Please ensure the Press Room has an adequate supply of your materials available throughout MINExpo®.
This is a BIG show. Please be aware that editors and reporters are very busy. They appreciate precise and clear information. Trade press editors surveyed by EXHIBITOR Magazine have said the most useful press kit contains the following information:
- One-page company bio sheet: corporate structure, executive staff charts, sales figures.
- Press release – with customer testimonials.
- Complete product information: specs, distribution methods, pricing.
- Photos – products, executives.
- Key contact(s): at the show, home office.
Camera-ready images or disks with digital images (at least 300 dpi tiff images are preferred) are better to include, since most publications and papers use them. Don’t include brochures or catalog sheets because the press will not use them. To help reporters find your exhibit on the show floor, always display your booth number in the upper right hand corner of all press materials.
To maximize your press coverage, your on-site press releases should contain the names of two or three staff members who will be at the exhibit, your exhibit space number and contact information. Plan to have at least one of these people on hand at all times for the benefit of reporters who may want to get more information at the show. Also include the home office contact on the press releases because some writers will have follow-up questions when they return to their office.
Press Conferences
Rooms are set aside at the Las Vegas Convention Center for use by exhibitors who wish to hold press conferences that are open to all media attending MINExpo. Please use the Press Conference Request Form to reserve a day and time for your press conference. Please note that all press conferences held in these rooms will be open to all media attending MINExpo and posted on a MINExpo Press Conference list posted in the Press Room.
For exhibitors who wish to hold press briefings that are by your invitation only, please use the Meeting Room Request Form. The room is complimentary, but if catering is required, you will need to make the necessary arrangements with Aramark. Rooms are assigned first-come and on a space available basis.
Press Conferences may be held in your booth on Tuesday, September 25 and Wednesday, September 26 one hour prior to the opening of the Show. Exhibitor is responsible for escorting reporters to your booth and from the booth if the Show has not opened prior to the end of the press conference.
